The purchase of 11.68 acres of additional contiguous property and the one-time opportunity to reduce the impact of limited impervious surface in future developments lead Clemmons United Methodist Church to pursue a master plan for their property. An additional incentive was the peaking of attendance in worship due to space constraints. A new sanctuary seemed in the not too distant future. After considerable time with various ministry groups within the church, a design rationale was developed that gave a new focus to what would become a campus plan. Auto parking was kept at the perimeter of the main facilities. Pedestrian gathering nodes connected to the simple internal circulation of the buildings. A long-standing congregation now has a vision of ministry well into the future.
