Unity Presbyterian Church

With an Indian chief and a colonial governor buried in the church graveyard, Unity Presbyterian Church has a great history in eastern Lincoln County. After the building committee determined that acquisition of additional property and growth beyond membership of 600 were not viable options for their church, they set about pursuing other ways to meet the needs of their expanding congregation. The new sanctuary and fellowship hall are simple in form and materials to fit with the existing buildings. The lobby/narthex joins the two new facilities, provides a fellowship space previously lacking on the site, and creates a visual connection to the historic graveyard. Though simple in form and treatment, the sanctuary has sophisticated systems for audio, video, and lighting.
